VIDEO: Being a Therapist Isn’t Always Easy

Well, let’s face it,
being a therapist isn’t always easy. In fact, if you’re like me, just becoming
a therapist was probably one of the hardest things
you’ve personally ever had to do. Well, my name is Zach Taylor. I’m the Director of Continuing Education
here at Psychotherapy Networker. And for over 40 years, Networker
has been committed to nurturing you and all the people
that make up this incredibly diverse community of practitioners. I can remember from being
a young professional up until today. It was Networker, whether through the
magazine or the annual symposium, that I was constantly getting to learn
from some of the clinicians that I most looked up to, clinicians like
Bessel van der Kolk, Dan Siegel, Esther Perel before she was as famous as
she is today, Sue Johnson, and many more. That’s part of why I’m so incredibly
grateful to be sitting here today working alongside Livia Kent, our Managing Editor,
Rich Simon, our Editor, and all of our writers and staff to help
keep Networker at the heart of the conversations that are happening in the
field, and to be a place where therapists of all stripes and all licenses can gather
together to learn from each other and inspire each other. Okay, so, by now, you probably realize
Psychotherapy Networker really isn’t much without all of us, the network or family. And that includes you. So really, the reason I’m doing this
little video today is simply to encourage you to stay in touch with us,
whether that’s by subscribing to the magazine, or our online blog,
coming to the annual symposium each year in Washington DC, or really,
you can join us anytime and earn CE credits by taking
one of our online digital courses. So, again, my name is Zach Taylor,
and again, I want to really thank you for being a part of all of this. We couldn’t do it without you. So, please keep letting us know what we
can do to help make you an even more effective therapist because we all know
that what we do isn’t always easy, but it helps to know you’re not alone. So, again, thank you,
and I’ll see you again very soon in another video. ♪ [music] ♪
